TMA Named PASBA’s Large Firm of the Year—Here’s What That Really Means

At the May 2025 conference of the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants (PASBA), held at the Opal Sol Resort in Clearwater, Florida, TMA Accounting was honored with the “Large Firm of the Year” award.

It’s a national recognition, but for us, it feels very personal.

Because while this award may have TMA’s name on it, it really belongs to the people who make this work matter:

  • The small business owners who trust us to help them thrive.
  • The team members who show up every day, sleeves rolled up, ready to solve problems and serve well.

Why PASBA and This Award Matter

PASBA is a national association of accounting firms focused on one thing: serving small businesses better.

Each year, the organization recognizes firms in three size categories—small, medium, and large—for their leadership, innovation, and contributions to the PASBA community. TMA received the Large Firm of the Year award in recognition of our involvement in peer education and commitment to helping other firms level up their service to small business clients.

Our founder has been an active PASBA member since 2005, and that’s not by accident.

PASBA exists to help accountants improve, not just in spreadsheets and software, but also in being a valuable resource to the business owners we serve. They teach firms like ours how to lead with clarity, build systems that work, and stay sharp in a fast-changing world.

Because here’s the truth: Small business owners don’t need more jargon. They need someone who understands what keeps them up at night—and can help them make confident, informed decisions.

Our Clients Make This Work Possible

We serve restaurant owners, dentists, contractors, auto repair shops, and dozens of other service-based businesses across Indiana and the Midwest.

These are people juggling every aspect of their operations—from hiring and payroll to customer service and compliance. And even with all that on their plates, they make time to collaborate with our team so we can do our job well.

They don’t outsource their responsibilities—they stay engaged. And that’s what makes good financial guidance possible.

When a business owner chooses to work with us, they’re saying, “I want better insight, more clarity, and fewer surprises.” That decision is what allows us to deliver real results.

That trust is everything. It’s why we show up the way we do. And it’s the reason this award even exists.

Our Team Makes This Work Matter

No one earns an award like this alone.

It’s a reflection of the care, consistency, and competence of every person on our team—staff accountants, payroll specialists, managers, and support staff.

They take chaotic financial information and turn it into meaningful answers. They keep things organized, compliant, and clear. They care—deeply—about doing things right and helping businesses succeed.

They don’t just respond to emails and process payroll. They make business owners’ lives easier—and that matters.

A World Without Thriving Small Businesses? No Thanks.

This recognition is an honor, but it also reaffirms our mission.

Because let’s be honest: none of us wants to live in a world without thriving small businesses.
They employ our neighbors, bring life to our community, and add resilience and character to our economy.

TMA’s role is to reduce the financial chaos that gets in their way. That’s what drives us. That’s what PASBA supports. And that’s why we’re proud to be part of this mission.

What's Next?

This award is a milestone—but not a finish line.

We’ll continue to improve, listen, and stay focused on what matters most: helping business owners achieve the financial clarity and confidence they need to succeed.
