No two businesses are exactly alike – so your cost will reflect your unique needs.
We build our pricing around a few key factors that influence how much time, expertise, and technology it takes to keep your books clean, your taxes on track, and your employees paid on time. Here are the three biggest things that affect your monthly cost:
The more payments you make, like vendor bills, purchases, and payroll, the more effort it takes to keep everything clean and accurate. Businesses with higher transaction volume typically see higher pricing because there’s more activity to manage each month.
If your business involves multiple locations, loans, inventory, or special tax filings, your books are a bit more complex, and that means more work for our team. We assess each client’s needs to make sure pricing reflects the level of expertise and service required.
The more employees you have, the more payroll and compliance needs you’ll have, too. Whether you pay employees weekly or monthly, the size of your team directly affects how much time and tech it takes to get payroll done right.
Our implementation fee typically ranges from $750 to $1,500. This covers the time we invest upfront to learn about your business, your goals, and how you currently handle business finances. We also help adapt, improve, and streamline processes so that you get the most from our services.
Need help cleaning up or catching up on bookkeeping or tax returns? Backwork and prior-period tax filings are priced separately and discussed up front.
We think so, and our clients do too. Our goal isn't just to "do your books," but to help you:
The return comes in fewer headaches, better decisions, and the peace of mind that someone has your back. For most clients, that value far exceeds the monthly fee.
Our service plans are designed to meet the accounting, tax, and payroll needs of small businesses. However, we do offer personal income tax preparation as an add-on in most cases. Just let us know during onboarding.
Most clients go through changes, especially growth. We monitor your business activity (such as the number of employees, transactions, assets, or liabilities) so that your pricing can be adjusted as needed.

Yes. You can upgrade or adjust services anytime as your needs evolve. We’ll work with you to make sure the support level matches your business needs.
Yes—more than 90% of our business clients stay with TMA for as long as their business is in operation. On average, we work with our small business clients for more than eight years. We think that kind of track record says a lot about the trust and value our team provides.
TMA’s cost isn’t the cheapest out there. Our clients generally invest a little more because we provide a lot more support. While lower-cost options exist, they don’t include the same processes and level of service that TMA’s clients receive.
We believe in transparency. The terms and conditions of our services are outlined in a written service agreement that covers scope, pricing, and key terms – no hidden gotchas. We’ll review your service agreement together before your services start.
Running a business is hard enough—your accounting shouldn’t be. Whether you’re just starting out or scaling up, we’ll help you choose the service plan that fits your needs and takes the guesswork out of your finances.
